I’m Moving to Canada

Here’s step 1 of the process so you can do it too.

I had always thought about taking a risk and moving out of the country. I am what they call “wanderlust” — I live to see the world.

My significant other and I have always joked about moving out of America. He always brought up Canada as being his go-to country. I didn’t care where we went as long as we hightailed it out of here and could financially visit our families on the regular — seeing as we are both family-oriented.

With the wake of recent tragedies within the States, the want and need to move away grew impeccably large. Thus, the most reasonable choice would be to move in with our neighbors north.

The minute I told my S.O. that I was serious about moving — though I had always been, just a little hesitant to move forward with the process — he quickly started a quick investigation on to how to do so.

There were two ways we could go: the least-financially burdened way or the easiest way.

The least financially burdened way is to visit this site and find the option that suits you. The quickest way is to apply for Canadian residency, if you have no family relations with a Canadian citizen, is applying for Express Entry, which means having experience in a skilled trade that is desirable in Canada. And if your skilled trade is listed, you must demonstrate a desirable work history — preferably Canadian — and have the financial means to migrate if chosen. Thus, you have to pitch yourself in an extraordinary light to Canada yourself.

Now, for someone who stresses about their financials, like myself, it’s hard to fork up any additional money that does not involve me paying Canada directly for my visa.

But, my boyfriend ended up finding this immigration firm that actually deals with all the boring paperwork and practically does all the hard work for you. You just give them all your information and follow their lead. Sounds great, right?

But, here’s the kicker. It costs a hefty penny to go through them. That’s why this is not the most financial option, but is the easiest in my opinion.
